Hendricks County is racing into the future
with an ever-growing motorsports industry in the Brownsburg area,
continual upgrades at O’Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis, and the
Indianapolis Motor Speedway practically in our backyard.
Just minutes west of downtown Indianapolis, Hendricks County continues
to be the second fastest growing county in the state and shows no signs
of slowing down. That can be attributed in part to its close proximity
to Indianapolis International Airport, rail service, and major
interstates.
For the most part, however, people move to Hendricks County because of
its outstanding school systems - Avon, Brownsburg, Danville, Plainfield,
Tri-West, and Cascade - and its small town feel with big city
advantages.
Friday night football, concerts in the park, the annual 4-H fair,
year-round festivals, and numerous civic organizations to be involved in
leave residents with plenty to do in their free time. Family- oriented
activities are abundant and range from youth sports programs to active
churches of nearly every denomination.
Each town also boasts outstanding park and sporting facilities and the
county has numerous top-notch golf courses. Two large water parks
recently opened, a new county fairgrounds was unveiled this year,
Plainfield has an award-winning winery, and Metropolis, a high-end
outdoor mall, continues to grow in phases, bringing shoppers from
throughout central Indiana.
From fast food to fine dining, Hendricks County has it all. Several
large business parks, two major hospitals, a community airport, and
countless retail establishments keep the unemployment rate down.
The Hendricks County Flyer focuses on community news with an emphasis on
people, schools, sports, and local government.
Residents here maintain an average household income in excess of
$70,000. Eighty-three percent own their own homes, more than half of
which have a property value in excess of $150,000.
The Westside Flyer serves the neighboring Indianapolis communities in
Wayne Township whose residents share similar values and demographics to
those in Hendricks County. |
